With iOS 9.3 in beta, we saw a ton of improvements, but with iOS 10 in development and set for beta in June alongside WWDC, we here at FutureAppleCEO have created a list of 50 things we'd like to see in the 10.x update series.
Peek and Pop in the App Store - the iOS AppStore is great, there is something for everyone, but what if you want a quick preview of the app before you click Get? Simply Peek into the app on the AppStore and if it catches you interest, a quick Pop would bring you into further exploration.
Peek into Folders - Folders are a great way to sort apps and to keep your device clutter free. Many of us have multiple pages of apps in folders. With Peek Support, you could easy see what your first few apps in the folder are.
Folders in Folders - Organization Subclassing. Organize all your games into folders and then sort them into action, puzzle, ect with Folders in Folders.
3D Touch support for Siri - if you're a sports fan, it's likely you use Siri to check game scores and re-caps. Sure, Siri delivers good sports info, but what if you could Force Touch on the information Siri delivers to view a more comprehensive article.
3D Touch inside app switcher - many iOS users find that clearing background apps from the application switcher can be time consuming. A simple ForceTouch on the home screen card could easily clear all apps or reboot the phone. All given in a system pop up.
3D Touch support/customizability for Control Center - Control Center was introduced back in iOS 7, and hasn't seen much change as far as features go. We'd love to see it more customizable. Choose the toggles you want to show, or allow it to page adding Data, NighT Shift, HomeKit, and PersonalHotspot Support, ect. Also, with iOS 9.3s integration of 3D Touch on the settings app, what if control center did the same? Simply 3D Touch on the wifi toggle to be given a pop up of available wifi networks.
Add songs to MyMusic using SiriShazam - Siri has evolved a lot since launch, and so has the music app. With Music, Siri, got even smarter, why not have her add music you Shazam to your library?
Hide Stock Apps - it's pretty obvious that there are many pre installed apps that we don't all use every day such as stocks or Game Center; some of these we never use. We'd love the ability to hide them. Simply 3D Touch on the icon then tap the hide app shortcut.
More Live Wallpapers - it's simple. Yeah, Koi Fish are nice, but what if you can't stand the smell of fish? How about a wider variety of Live Wallpapers with iOS 10... Or simply add a tab to the App Store where a user can download things like Live Wallpapers, System Tones, and emoji packs rather than killing the little space my 16GB phone has and pre-installing everything.
More Dynamic Wallpapers - Introduced in iOS 7.0, dynamic wallpapers allow the background to interact with the device movement... And 3 iterations later you can have circles float in the direction your device is angled... A bit more options here?
These are the first 10 of our 50 features we'd like to see added to iOS 10 in June.
Join us again next month for part two.
